I approach my work as a counsellor with gratitude for the guidance of practitioners who have supported me over the past decade. My own personal work, including letting go of the belief that I must navigate everything alone, motivated me to pursue a change in career to counseling in my 5th decade. I believe that it is never too late to learn and change.

My practices of self-reflection, group process work, meditation and connection to nature support me to reliably show up for clients with compassion and curiosity, and with respect for a diversity of lived experiences. I continue to pursue personal work as we can only show up for others as well as we show up for ourselves.

I am a second-generation settler of mixed Japanese and European ancestry living on the traditional territories of the K’omoks First Nation on Vancouver Island, BC, with my partner and daughter.
